Arizona Commission seeks applicants for judicial review board

PHOENIX – The Arizona Commission on Judicial Performance Review is looking for applicants to serve on the committee.
The commission is a constitutionally-mandated board that conducts periodic performance of appointed judges.
It is composed of 34 members and includes representatives of the public, attorneys and judges, according to a press release.
The commission is looking for members from Maricopa, Pima, Pinal, Gila, Santa Cruz and Yuma counties.
Representatives serve four-year terms where they help voters evaluate the performances of judges that are up for review, appoint judicial assignments and assist in identifying needs for judicial education programs.
Judges who serve on the Superior Court in Coconino, Maricopa, Pima and Pinal counties are subject to judicial performance review. The board also examines the performances Supreme Court Justices and judges on the Court of Appeals in divisions one and two.
The commission meets four to six time a year in Phoenix, and members are reimbursed for travel expenses.
Applications must be submitted by Oct. 1. The form is available online.
