PHOENIX — Mesa police on Friday located a 2-year-old girl who may have been kidnapped by her biological father, who does not have custodial rights.

Ezmeralda Tineo was last seen at 8:30 p.m. Thursday in a neighborhood near Baseline Road and Val Vista Drive.

Police say Esau Tineo, 39, took her from the location in an older gray Chevy Tahoe with an unknown license plate.

The girl’s family was concerned because of the father’s recent erratic behavior, police said.

Ezmeralda is 3 feet tall and weighs 25 pounds with brown hair and eyes.

Esau is 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighs 230 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He has a swan tattoo on his upper left arm.
