PHOENIX — The HonorHealth hospital near Anthem is scheduled to open this month, according to the Phoenix Business Journal.
The Sonoran Crossing Medical Center, which will be HonorHealth’s sixth hospital in the metro Phoenix area, will be located off the Interstate-17 and Dove Valley Road.
HonorHealth already operates an emergency department on the land that is being used for the new hospital, according to the Phoenix Business Journal. That department, the Sonoran Health and Emergency Center, will move into the new 210,000 square-foot facility.
The hospital will have 70 beds, according to a press release. It will offer services including comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological care, a 24-hour emergency care, and expertise in joint replacement and other minimally invasive procedures.
The three-story hospital is expected to serve people in Anthem, New River, Cave Creek, Peoria, Glendale, Phoenix and others along I-17.
The closest current hospital to Anthem is the HonorHealth Deer Valley Medical Center, about 12 miles south of where the new hospital will be.
HonorHealth operates three hospitals in Scottsdale and two in Phoenix.
