PHOENIX — A former Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office detective was one of five suspects arrested in the past two weeks as part of an operation in Pinal County targeting sexual predators, officials said Wednesday.
Christopher Butts, 44, was arrested last Wednesday on charges of aggravated luring of a minor for sexual exploitation and furnishing harmful items to a minor.
Butts, who served as an MCSO detective, was out on bond for a February arrest on the same charges.
Butts and the other suspects were arrested as part of the months-long Operation Home Alone 2, which targeted sexual predators who attempted to lure underage children with the intent of engaging in sexual activity.
The other four suspects, listed below with their charges, were arrested between Aug. 26 and Thursday:
-
- Daniel May, 40, of Maricopa: Luring a minor for sexual exploitation.
- Matthew Salley, 38, of Maricopa: Luring a minor for sexual exploitation.
- Jordan Holloway, 26, of Maricopa: Luring a minor for sexual exploitation.
- Ryan Kellerman, 36, of Maricopa: Aggravated luring of a minor for sexual exploitation and furnishing harmful items to a minor.
Kellerman is also a suspect in a child pornography case with the Maricopa Police Department.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety said additional arrests are pending and that an investigation is ongoing.
