1 killed, 3 injured in multiple-car accident near Phoenix intersection

PHOENIX – One person died and three others were seriously injured late Tuesday in a two-car accident in Phoenix.
Phoenix Police said in an email Wednesday that a 38-year-old man riding in a truck was pronounced dead at the scene near Seventh Street and Roeser Road around 11:30 p.m.
Sgt. Maggie Cox said an SUV driven by another 38-year-old man ran a red light and smashed into an eastbound truck.
A 22-year-old woman who was behind the wheel of the truck, along with a 29-year-old female passenger and the SUV driver were taken to the hospital in serious condition, Phoenix Fire Capt. Todd Keller said.
First responders arrived to find two cars overturned in the street.
The street was shut down for hours for the police investigation.
