PHOENIX — Arizona State University reported Monday night that there were 807 known positive coronavirus cases among students.

The 807 positive cases is a decrease of 150 since the last report, which came out Thursday night.

Among those cases, 202 are in isolation on the Tempe campus. That is a decrease of 167 students since the Thursday report.

There are 573 cases off campus in the metro Phoenix area, an increase of 17 since Thursday.

The rest of the students in isolation live on the ASU Downtown Phoenix campus, the west campus or the Polytechnic campus.

Meanwhile, there are 18 members among the 12,400 ASU staff that tested positive.

Arizona State announced last week that it would regularly provide updates on the total number of a coronavirus cases on campus.

The university is continuing to monitor the total number of cases on campus to determine its plans for on-campus learning and housing.

The school is in Mode 2 for learning and Mode 3 for housing. The current operation for learning entails hybrid instruction. Students can choose to attend class in-person or online through ASU Sync or iCourses.

The university’s housing plans for on-campus students currently prohibit external visitors and they’ve worked to de-densify the number of students in dorms with communal bathrooms and living situations. The university adapted its housing plans last week after seeing an increase in cases.

On Monday, Arizona health officials reported 198 new coronavirus cases and 0 additional deaths, bringing the state’s totals to 205,964 COVID-19 infections and 5,219 deaths.
