PHOENIX — The Arizona desert is being lauded as a great place for a woman to grow her business.
Fundera ranked two Valley cities in the top 10 locations in the country for women entrepreneurs.
Gilbert was awarded the No. 5 spot on the list and Scottsdale placed No. 6.
The website applauded the two cities for the percentage of women employed in their own business, with Scottsdale topping the list at 7.5% and Gilbert tying for second at 4.7%.
Scottsdale was ranked one spot behind Gilbert based on the city’s modest earnings gap between men and women business owners.
The study found women business owners in Scottsdale only earn 55.9% of what men business owners make.
Other categories considered in the ranking were housing cost as a percent of earnings for women entrepreneurs, percent of residents with a bachelor’s degree, job growth and tax rates.
Chandler also appeared in the ranking, rounding out the list at No. 15, while Seattle was found to be the top city in the county for women entrepreneurs.
