North Phoenix Loop 101 closure, other restrictions to hinder weekend drivers

PHOENIX — A Loop 101 closure in north Phoenix and other restrictions spread across the Valley will hinder weekend drivers, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
Eastbound Loop 101 will be closed between Cave Creek Road and Tatum Boulevard from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.
All northbound State Route 51 ramps to eastbound Loop 101 will also be closed. In addition, Cave Creek Road will be closed in both directions at Loop 101.

In the southeast Valley, southbound Loop 101 will be narrowed to three lanes between Rio Salado Parkway and US 60 from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for pavement improvements. Southbound Loop 101 on- and off-ramps between University Drive and Southern Avenue, along with both Loop 202 ramps to southbound Loop 101 will also be closed.
Further west, northbound Loop 202 will be narrowed to one lane between Buckeye Road and Van Buren Street from midnight to noon Saturday for lane striping. Additionally, northbound Loop 202 on-ramps at Lower Buckeye and Buckeye roads will be closed.
Peoria Avenue will be closed in both directions between 25th Avenue and 27th Drive from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for storm drain construction. All Interstate 17 on- and off-ramps at Peoria Ave will also be closed.
In the North Valley, I-17 will be narrowed to one lane in both directions overnight near Happy Valley Road from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday nights for interchange construction.
