I-10 closures, projects in East Valley, North Valley to affect weekend traffic

PHOENIX — Weekend drivers will have to contend with multiple closures along Interstate 10 and construction projects in the North Valley and East Valley, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
Eastbound I-10 will be closed between the Interstate 17 “Stack” interchange and the State Route 51/Loop 202 interchange for tunnel cleaning and maintenance from 10 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday.
Tunnel cleaning and maintenance will also close westbound I-10 between the I-17 “Split” interchange and Seventh Avenue from 9 p.m. Saturday until 9 a.m. Sunday.
Westbound I-10 access to Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport at the “Split” interchange will also be closed during this time.

In the East Valley, the southbound Loop 101 Price Freeway will be closed between Loop 202 Red Mountain Freeway and Baseline Road for maintenance improvements and sign work from 9 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday.
Ramps from Loop 202 to southbound Loop 101 and U.S. 60 to to southbound Loop 101 will also be closed during this time.
In the North Valley, a construction project will narrow I-17 to one lane in both directions Sunday and Monday from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
The northbound I-17 on-ramp and southbound off-ramp at Happy Valley will also be closed until mid October for interchange reconstruction.
Further east, a widening project will close the westbound Loop 101 Pima Freeway between State Route 51 and Cave Creek Road from 10 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday.
The northbound SR 51 ramp to westbound Loop 101 and the westbound Loop 101 on-ramp and Tatum Boulevard will also be closed during this time.
The eastbound Loop 101 Pima Freeway will be narrowed to two lanes between Cave Creek Road and SR 51 for a widening project from 10 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday.
The eastbound Loop 101 ramp to to southbound SR 51 will be closed during this time along with with both directions of Cave Creek Road at Loop 101.
Finally, the eastbound Loop 101 off-ramp at 56th Street will be closed for approximately two months due to a widening project.
