Valleywise Health to open new south Phoenix location on Monday

Aug 15, 2020, 2:30 PM | Updated: 9:52 pm

PHOENIX — Valleywise Health in a press release on Friday announced its new state-of-the-art community health center at 35th and Southern avenues in Laveeen will open on Monday.

The facility will offer primary and pediatric care, women’s health, radiology and behavioral health services with in-person and telehealth appointments available.

It will also serve as a host to medical resident students in partnership with the Creighton University Arizona Health Education Alliance.

“A great deal of thought went into making this right for the community it serves,” CEO and President of Valleywide Health Steve Purves said in the release.

“Our staff and District Medical Group physicians are excited to provide the care families of Laveen and south Phoenix need and deserve.”

The new clinic was made possible after voters approved Proposition 480 in 2014, a $935 million bond measure for Maricopa County’s special health-care district, according to the release.

It marks the 18th Valleywise Health facility in the Valley, with new locations in north Phoenix and Peoria opening in November and January, 2021 respectively.
