PHOENIX — The suspect arrested after allegedly shooting at police on a Valley freeway Wednesday was wanted on multiple domestic violence charges, authorities said Thursday.

Bryan Lamb, 37, was booked on a slew of counts, including weapons charges, aggravated domestic violence, aggravated assault against a police officer, stalking and unlawful flight, according to the Peoria Police Department.

Officers were looking for Lamb near Interstate 17 and Bell Road around 4 p.m.

He fled in his vehicle after appearing to notice the officers, who say the heard a shot and saw him pointing a gun at them.

Police pursued Lamb south on I-17 and then west on I-10, where he allegedly fired a shot then threw his gun out the window, police said.

After heading south on Loop 202, he exited and drove to into a convenience store parking lot at 67th Avenue and Buckeye Road.

Police used a K9 unit to help take Lamb, who they say was not compliant, into custody.

He was hospitalized for a dog bite injury and booked into county jail upon his release.

Freeways were closed at the stack interchange while officers searched for the gun. The weapon was recovered in the area of 25th Avenue and Belleview Street, near the stack, police said.
