2 workers buried after trench collapses at West Valley construction site

PHOENIX — Technical rescue teams were engaged in a body recovery operation Thursday afternoon after a trench collapsed at a West Valley construction site, authorities said.
Two workers were buried at the housing development, according to the Phoenix Fire Department.
The incident occurred in the area of 107th Avenue and Missouri Road, near the Camelback Ranch spring training baseball complex.
Crews closed off entry to the area, but no roads were shut down.
Authorities said they expect the recovery to be a long process.
No other information was immediately available.
