PHOENIX – A father faces attempted murder charges after allegedly shooting at a vehicle carrying his family and seriously wounding his son Monday night in Scottsdale, authorities said.
Jason Robert Moore, 42, was taken into custody without incident during a traffic stop at 9:30 p.m., about four hours after the shooting, according to the Scottsdale Police Department.
A woman reported that her ex-husband, in a separate vehicle, was chasing her car while she was driving with her teenage son and daughter.
Police said the suspect fired multiple times into the family’s vehicle at the intersection of Granite Reef and Chaparral roads.
The son, the only one hurt, was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, police said.
Moore, who was arrested by Scottsdale SWAT personnel near Indian School and Granite Reef roads, faces charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault and endangerment, police said.
The investigation is ongoing.
