Phoenix detectives seeking public’s help following fatal hit-and-run

PHOENIX — The Phoenix Police Department has asked for the public’s help following a fatal hit-and-run incident that occurred Saturday night.
At approximately 10 p.m., a 30-year-old male was struck while heading south across Van Buren Street on the east side of 33rd Avenue, according to a press release.
The unknown driver had been traveling eastbound on Van Buren Street at the time of the collision and was operating a white 2007 to 2010 Saturn Outlook, authorities said.
The driver continued heading eastbound following the collision.
The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Though the deceased had been crossing the street within a designated crosswalk, authorities said the intersection has no signal lights.
