PHOENIX – For the first time in over a week, the temperature in Phoenix dropped below 90 degrees Wednesday morning.
The thermometer dipped to 89 degrees at 5:12 a.m., breaking a 90-plus stretch that lasted seven days, 21 hours and 56 minutes, according to the National Weather Service in Phoenix.
The last sub-90 temperature had been recorded July 7.
However, Phoenix has another “hot” streak that shows no sign of ending.
It hit at least 110 degrees Tuesday for the 11th straight day, tying fourth-longest such streak ever recorded, according to the National Weather Service.
The streak in #Phoenix with a temperature of 90+ °F has come to an end at 7 days, 21 hours, and 56 minutes. The temperature fell below 90°F at 5:12 AM this morning. 89°F is the low temperature this morning. #azwx pic.twitter.com/oBaSuZbpmP

If it touches 110 again Wednesday, it would tie the third-longest streak, which occurred June 26-April 7 of 2007.
With daily highs of at least 109 degrees in the Phoenix forecast at least through Sunday, the record of 18 consecutive days of a least 110 set June 12-29 in 1974 could be in danger.
After reaching 110°F here in #Phoenix again today for the 11th consecutive days, this is now tied as the 4th longest streak of consecutive 110+ °F highs. Our forecast high the next 2 days is 110+ °F. So, could easily move up into a tie for 3rd or even 3rd outright. #azwx pic.twitter.com/SU2NxR5Hi7
