Lightning-caused Navarro Fire west of Tucson has burned 1,100 acres

PHOENIX — A lightning-caused wildfire burning west of Tucson had burned an estimated 1,100 acres by Sunday morning, officials said.
The Navarro Fire began Saturday night around 10 p.m. and had been monitored by fire crews until this morning due to safety reasons, extreme fire behavior and poor access, according to Arizona State Forestry.
Authorities said the blaze, was moving through heavy vegetation toward the northeast.
The closest structures currently at risk are homes in the Cisco Ranch area, according to the Three Points Fire District.
Officials are expecting fire activity to increase through the night via anticipated thunderstorms and outflow winds.
Around 10 a.m., the Three Points Fire District said at least two large air tankers were inbound in order to protect homes in the impacted area.

The fire district asked residents to stay out of the southern areas of Diamond Bell and Sierrita Mountain around 9 a.m.
The fire station on Sierrita Mountain Road is currently serving as the incident command post for the blaze.
About 150 personnel were working to contain the blaze by Sunday afternoon, authorities said.
