PHOENIX — A global electrical product provider plans to open a new 400,000 square-foot distribution center in Phoenix later this year and create 100 jobs in the area.

ABB Installation Products, formerly Thomas & Betts, said in a press release Monday that more than 2,000 products will be stocked at the facility and supply customers in the western region of the country.

“It will allow us to deliver a wide range of essential electrical products to contractors and industrial builders with significantly improved lead times, cutting many delivery times by half,” U.S. managing director for installation products Chet Akiri said in the release.

The company manufactures various key brands in the electric field including T&B Liquidtight Fittings, Ty-Rap, Elastimold and Blackburn/Color Keyed products.

U.S. sales leader for installation products Christy Tilton was quoted in the release saying the new distribution center in Phoenix is part of the company’s expansion plans to increase volume capacity and provide faster service of products.

Inaugural shipments were recently made from the facility that is scheduled to be fully operational in the third quarter of 2020.
