Toyota opens parts distribution center in Phoenix, adds 61 new jobs
PHOENIX — Toyota Motor North America has brought a 136,000 square foot parts distribution center and 61 new jobs to Phoenix.
The $10 million facility officially opened on Monday but isn’t expected to be fully operational until July 20, according to a press release.
Toyota’s new location is designed to house approximately 56,000 Toyota and Lexus parts and will service 56 dealerships in total.
In addition to Toyota dealerships in Arizona, the parts distribution center will also service locations in New Mexico, Texas, Utah, Nevada and Colorado.
“The Phoenix PDC will improve service and support for our Southwest area Toyota and Lexus dealers,” Senior Manager for Toyota’s Parts Supply Chain Operations Jason Brown said in the release.
“The opening of this new world class facility will minimize order fulfillment times and offer new service options to better serve customers and meet increasing demand.”
Prior to the new Phoenix facility, Southwest Toyota dealerships had received vehicle parts from distribution centers in Los Angeles and San Francisco.
The Phoenix distribution center’s first shipment on Monday was the culmination of two years of planning and nine months of installation.
