Prescott Frontier Days proceeds amid coronavirus spikes in Arizona

PHOENIX – Prescott Frontier Days will continue this year in a limited capacity and is requiring attendees to sign a coronavirus waiver.
“The World’s Oldest Rodeo” is an annual event that takes place over the Fourth of July weekend at the Prescott Rodeo Grounds.
This year, attendees will be required to sign a waiver saying they are not experiencing any coronavirus symptoms and will not hold the rodeo accountable if they contract the virus.
The rodeo is not requiring masks, but they are encouraged. Mayor Greg Mengarelli and Yavapai County did not institute mask mandates when Gov. Doug Ducey gave local municipalities the power to decide mask requirements.

The rodeo is sold tickets in a limited capacity to allow for physical distancing, and there are no more remaining, but the rodeo will be broadcasted on the Cowboy Channel.
While the rodeo is still on, the dance and parade have been canceled.
The rodeo features steer wrestling, tie-down roping, saddle bronc riding, bareback riding, barrel racing, bull riding and team roping.
The event begins Monday and features daily performances at 7:30 p.m., except for Sunday. Saturday and Sunday will feature 1:30 p.m. shows.
The gates open two hours before each performance.
