2 dead following motorcycle collision with truck in Phoenix

PHOENIX — Two people have died following a motorcycle collision in Phoenix on Sunday.
The incident occurred just before 2 p.m. at the intersection of 31st Avenue and Indian School Road.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, 30-year-old Jessie Andrade was driving the motorcycle westbound on Indian School Road with 34-year-old Aracely Arvizu-Hernandez riding as a passenger.
As the two approached the intersection, the light turned yellow, causing two cars in front of the motorcycle to come to a stop, police said.
According to authorities, Andrade then moved into the middle lane and proceeded into the intersection before colliding with an eastbound-facing truck.
Andrade and Arvizu-Hernandez were transported to a local hospital where they would both be pronounced deceased, police said.
Authorities say the 25-year-old male driver of the truck was evaluated, but it was determined that he was not impaired at the time of the incident.
No other information was immediately available.
The investigation is ongoing.
