PHOENIX — Three people, including two children, died and one was in critical condition after being stabbed in a Phoenix apartment Sunday morning.
The incident occurred around 9 a.m. near the area of 19th and Glendale avenues.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, officers were responding to a call for a welfare check and possible stabbing when they found all four victims inside the apartment.
Three of the victims, a 7-year-old boy, a 9-year-old girl and an 18-year-old woman identified Monday as Abraha Danait, were pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.
The fourth victim, a 28-year-old male, was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
Police said it was believed that Danait was related to the children. The injured man’s relationship to the others was unclear, but police said he may have been living with the family at the time of the incident.
No other information was immediately available.
The investigation is ongoing.
