Missing 89-year-old Mesa man found safe after Silver Alert

PHOENIX — A missing 89-year-old Mesa man was found safe after several hours, authorities said early Wednesday.

Allan Johansson, the subject of a Silver Alert, had driven away from his Mesa home near Baseline and Sossamn roads Tuesday around noon.

Authorities said he suffers from dementia.

No other details of his return were made available.
