PHOENIX – One of the nation’s top pharmacy chains, CVS Health, announced Tuesday that it was bringing 500 jobs to an office in Chandler.
The company said it was hiring for health care advocates, behavioral health specialists, care management nurses and social workers, among other positions.
The East Valley city “is thrilled to welcome this significant infusion of new jobs to our community from a worldwide leader in the health care industry,” Mayor Kevin Hartke said in a press release.
The 101,000-square-foot office is in a business development near Loop 202 and Price Road.
Jason Clement, vice president of Aetna Clinical Services/CVS Health said in the press release the “state-of-the-art location will employ highly skilled talent.”
Unemployment in Arizona fell by 4.5% in May, the Office of Economic Opportunity reported last week.
Many businesses reopened or expanded their operations after Gov. Doug Ducey lifted stay-at-home orders and other restrictions in mid-May.
In mid-April, the state paid out a record $151 million in unemployment benefits in one week.
