Wrong-way crash closes I-17 in Phoenix approaching Durango Curve

PHOENIX — A wrong-way crash blocked southbound lanes on Interstate 17 early on Sunday morning, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

State troopers said that impairment appeared to be a factor in the crash.

The lanes were reopened around 4:40 a.m.

ABC15 reported that two people were injured in the crash, which occurred just north of Buckeye Road approaching the Durango Curve.

No further information was given on the status of either injuries.
