PHOENIX — A closure on the new South Mountain Freeway is among this weekend’s metro Phoenix highway restrictions, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
In west Phoenix, the southbound Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway will be closed between Lower Buckeye and Baseline roads from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for rubberized asphalt paving.
The southbound ramps at Van Buren Street and Buckeye Road will also be closed.
ADOT says if the paving is finished ahead of schedule, it will close the northbound South Mountain Freeway between Lower Buckeye Road and Interstate 10 from 1 a.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday for more paving.
