PHOENIX — Metro Phoenix protesters returned to the streets for the sixth consecutive night in response to the deaths of George Floyd in Minnesota and Dion Johnson in Phoenix.

In addition to returning to the downtown Phoenix area, another protest location was scheduled in Goodyear.

Zero arrests were made following Monday night’s demonstrations in downtown Phoenix.

On Monday, President Donald Trump threatened to deploy the U.S. military unless states took action to effectively halt violent protests.

After marching east of Phoenix City Hall, protesters stopped to take a knee at the intersection of Second and Van Buren streets, according to Gamino.

He estimated there to be roughly 300 protesters in the area.

5:22 p.m.

A growing number of protesters chanted “no justice, no peace” outside of Phoenix City Hall, according to KTAR News 92.3 FM’s Griselda Zetino.

Organizers of the protest could also be heard calling for another peaceful night of demonstrations in accordance with the statewide curfew beginning at 8 p.m.

4:40 p.m.

Protesters had moved from the Phoenix Police Department’s headquarters to Phoenix City hall, according to Gamiño.
