PHOENIX — Two more metro Phoenix casinos are set to resume operations on Monday.

Talking Stick Resort and Casino Arizona will reopen at a limited capacity and increased safety measures at noon on Monday.

Both properties, which are owned and operated by Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, have been closed since March because of the coronavirus outbreak.

“We are excited to welcome back not only our loyal guests but also our employees, both of whom have been so patient and supportive throughout this closure,” said Ramon Martinez, director of public relations for the casinos, said in a press release.

“We took great care and the necessary time to implement a phased reopening plan with new protocols that will keep their health and safety top of mind across all facets of our operations.”

The reopening of Talking Stick Resort, located near the Loop 101 Agua Fria Freeway and Indian Bend Road, includes the requirement of masks and temperature of guests and employees being taken upon arrival.

The number of available hotel rooms at the resort will be limited and so will the number of restaurant options.

At Casino Arizona, located near the Loop 101 and McKellips Road, restaurant options will also be limited.

Smoking will also be temporarily prohibited in both casinos, but outside smoking areas will be available.

On the casino floor, plexiglass has been installed between slot machines and at table games.

Other social distancing and sanitation measures will be in place at the casinos.

Valley casinos have been gradually opening since Gov. Doug Ducey’s “stay-at-home” order expired at the end of the day on May 15.

We want to hear from you.
