PHOENIX – Memorial Day weekend in Arizona looks to be the last of the 90- degree temperatures for a while.

The weekend weather will range from 94 to 99 degrees before the Valley heats up to 108 degrees on Wednesday.

ABC15 meteorologist Iris Hermosillo tweeted that Friday will be 96 degrees while Saturday will top out at a breezy 94 degrees.

As the weekend progresses, temperatures will only go up, with Memorial Day expected to top out at 99 degrees.

Phoenix has experienced below average temperatures over the past week.

Last year, the Phoenix area matched its coolest Memorial Day high of  79 degrees, a record that was set in 1988.

The holiday weekend marks the first long weekend since Arizona started reopening after coronavirus restrictions.

With a combination of high winds and temperatures alongside low humidity, there are increased fire watches for wildfires.

Southern and central Arizona have an increased fire weather danger conditions, according to the National Weather Service.

As some prepare to head out of the Valley for the weekend, Flagstaff will have a high of 71 degrees on Monday.
