PHOENIX — A new pizza place in Surprise is handing out free pies as part of its grand opening celebration.

Reel Pizza Pies is offering free cheese pizza to the first 50 customers on Friday starting at 11 a.m. Patrons must purchase a drink with the order to receive the free pie.

The pizza joint originally opened its doors on Wednesday, but plans to host an official grand opening celebration on June 20 with pizza tastings, games, prizes and entertainment, Reel Pizza Pies said in a press release.

The restaurant fits 15 seats and spans 1,200-square feet. It serves slices, whole pies, sandwiches and subs through over-the-counter service.

“Reel Pizza Pies is a cool place to go with great music and great pizza,” Reel Pizza Pies Owner and Chef Kaleb Copenhaver said in the release. “We set ourselves apart by using the best and freshest ingredients in an energetic and fun environment.”

The establishment is located at 13953 West Waddell Road, Suite 103 in the Marley Park Shopping Center.

The shop’s hours are Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Reel Pizza Pies is closed on Tuesdays.
