PHOENIX – In a year lacking typical ceremonies, Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey proclaimed Wednesday as Class of 2020 Celebration Day in honor of the state’s graduates.
The proclamation honors students who completed degree work this year at the state’s high schools, trade schools, community colleges and universities.
“These graduates have worked hard to earn their diplomas, certificates and advanced degrees — and many are the first in their family to do so,” Ducey said in a press release.
“To all Class of 2020 graduates — Arizona is proud of your success and we wish you the very best in your next endeavor.”
Ducey’s decree notes that many graduates aren’t getting the chance to experience traditional commencement events because of the coronavirus pandemic.
