69-year-old man found dead near pool at home in Surprise

PHOENIX — A 69-year-old man was found dead near a pool at a residence in Surprise, authorities said Tuesday.

The Surprise Fire-Medical Department responded to a drowning call at a home near Dysart Road and Central Street and found the man in the backyard.

It was unclear how long the man was in the pool or what was the cause of death.

No other information was immediately available.
