PHOENIX — With one week of operation complete after Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey announced salons could reopen, Beauty Secrets Day Spa in Glendale reports being as busy as ever.
The spa offers a variety of aesthetic treatments including eyelash extensions, cosmetic injectables and skin services.
Some services are not possible to administer while adhering to normal social distancing protocols, but the salon owner’s say they’re doing whatever they can to protect both their clients and employees.
“Although it’s been really busy – we are making sure we have elevated all of our sanitation procedures,” Beauty Secrets Day Spa owner Heather Ames told KTAR News 92.3 FM on Friday.
Such enhanced sanitation procedures include: cleaning high touch surface areas, sanitizing any equipment used during services and requiring clients to wear masks during their appointments.
“Everyone has been really respectful of those guidelines just because we are in each other’s faces,” Ames said.
After a month of canceled appointments, the Glendale spa worked hard to stay afloat by pivoting their normal services to virtual appointments and curbside options.
Ames expressed her gratitude for clients she described as family. She indicated many were ready and excited to reschedule their appointments as soon as the state gave the green light for salons to open their doors again.
Beauty Secret Day Spa has also created online options for clients who prefer to have a “no touch” payment for their service.
