PHOENIX — Buckeye police detectives have arrested a 28-year-old man in connection with a homicide first reported in April 2019.
Joshua Escoto-Cisneros was arrested on Tuesday and questioned by the Buckeye Police Department about the death of Marisa Bell. During questioning, Escoto-Cisneros admitted to authorities he had killed Bell and disposed of her body and personal effects, according to a statement on Buckeye’s webpage.
On April 10, 2019, Buckeye officers responded to the Robbins Butte Wildlife area regarding witness reports of a partially buried body.
After the body was identified as Bell’s, it was discovered that she had been reported missing in Nevada, though was known to be living in the Phoenix area.
Bell and Escoto-Cisneros were said to have been “very casual acquaintances.”
Escoto-Cisneros’ arrest followed a months-long investigation carried out by Buckeye detectives.
He was booked into the Maricopa County Jail on various charges including second-degree degree murder, tampering with evidence and concealing a dead body.
