ASU to offer small number of summer classes on campus

PHOENIX — A small number of Arizona State University summer courses that don’t lend themselves to online instruction will still be offered on campus prior to the fall semester.

All other classes will be taught remotely via ASU Sync, ASU Online and ASU iCourses, with summer B session courses scheduled to start on July 1 and go until mid-August due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Arizona State University converted to online classes due to COVID-19 on March 16.

For courses that will receive instruction in person on campus, faculty and students will have to adhere to safety measures such as health screenings before entering the classroom and wearing face coverings.

However, ASU will communicate if face coverings will be required before July 1.

Arizona State University also intends to use this process as a way to better assess and implement protocols so that teaching and research can resume on campus for the fall semester.
