1 killed, 2 hurt in fiery truck rollover on Phoenix freeway

PHOENIX – One person was killed and two others were seriously injured Monday when an armored truck rolled over on a Phoenix freeway and began to burn.

Authorities shut down southbound State Route 143 near Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport around 3:30 p.m.

Phoenix firefighters said the fatality was pronounced at the scene. The other two people were taken to a hospital in critical condition.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety said cause of the crash was under investigation.

The roadway was closed until around 8:30 p.m.

No other details were released.
