PHOENIX – In lieu of a live event, the Arizona Department of Public Safety’s annual tribute to fallen troopers took the form of a video posted online Monday.

“While today is traditionally a day of gathering, mourning and memorializing together, due to COVID-19 we unfortunately are not able to do so,” the department said on its website.

“However, the importance and meaning of today is not diminished. The Arizona Department of Public Safety keeps these honorable men close to our hearts every day.”

Gov. Doug Ducey issued a press release including the video and the names of the 30 troopers and highway patrolmen who died in the line of duty since 1958.
