PHOENIX — President Donald Trump will be traveling to Arizona next week to address matters regarding industry.

“I think I’m going to Arizona next week, and we look forward to that,” Trump said Wednesday during a roundtable discussion on the reopening of the economy.

Trump will visit a Honeywell facility May 5 to highlight critical medical equipment production and the addition of 500 manufacturing jobs in Arizona.

The president said he is looking forward to holding rallies once again, but that campaigning would not be the focus of his upcoming travel.

“I’m going to Arizona and that’s a little bit different — that’s having to do with industry,” Trump said.

“Hopefully in the not too distance future we’ll have some massive rallies and people will be sitting next to each other … I can’t imagine a rally where you have every fourth seat full.”

Trump did not give a timeline about when he expects his political rallies to resume, saying instead that such decisions will be determined the the well-being of various states and their policies regarding the coronavirus outbreak.

Honeywell expects to produce more than six million N95 masks for Arizona over the next year to combat the coronavirus outbreak.

The agreement with the state comes after Honeywell’s Phoenix Aerospace site announced added mask manufacturing capabilities.

More than 500 new jobs have been created at the facility, with Honeywell stating recruiting, hiring and training of manufacturing workers has already begun.

The site is expected to help fill a need for the federal government, along with state and national healthcare and emergency response organizations.

Trump last came to Phoenix on Feb. 19 for a rally at Arizona Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
