PHOENIX — Maricopa County Library District has started offering curbside pick-up service at more than a dozen of its locations.
Cardholders can reserve and collect their books, movies and other items all while staying in their vehicles. The service will roll out in two phases: Users could start picking up items that are already on hold Wednesday.
New reservations can be made starting May 4.
Pickup at 16 of the 18 county sites will be available Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Sites on the list include El Mirage, Goodyear, Guadalupe, Fountain Hills, Queen Creek and Sun City.
“Libraries are about access,” County Board of Supervisors Chairman Clint Hickman said in a press release.
“The Maricopa County Library District is dedicated to finding the best ways to give our community the access they need and want. The first step was to go virtual, but we knew many people needed another way.”
Titles can be reserved on line or by phone at 602-652-3000, with a limit of 20 per customer. Digital cardholders are not eligible to pick up at curbside.
