Southbound I-17 in central Phoenix reopens following police situation

PHOENIX — A police situation closed southbound Interstate 17 in central Phoenix, authorities said Monday.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation said a man who shot at its Phoenix office and an employee at about 2 p.m. was apprehended on the highway without incident.
The incident occurred near the stack interchange around 2:30 p.m. and forced southbound traffic to exit the freeway at Grant Street, the Arizona Department of Transportation said.
The freeway reopened at about 3:45 p.m., ADOT said.
The I-17 northbound lanes were not affected by the incident.
The FBI said there were no injuries stemming from the shooting.
