PHOENIX — A miracle pup that hurdled many challenges in life found his forever home on Friday.
Clifford was adopted from Arizona Animal Welfare League’s main campus by a woman who’s adopted dogs from AAWL before.
It’s been quite a journey for Clifford to reach this point in his life.
He suffered from head trauma after suffering an attack by an unknown animal at five weeks old.
The dog’s original owner did not provide medical care at the time and Clifford began to develop signs of neurological problems.
He was surrendered to Arizona Animal Welfare League’s Rural Rescue program.
The organization drove several hundred miles to meet Clifford.
It was discovered Clifford was deaf, couldn’t walk normally and had tremors. It was also believed Clifford suffered from seizures.
The dog was taken into surgery where three surgeons and a neurologist installed a mesh wire to rebuild his skull.
Surgeons weren’t able to save the pup’s hearing but he will live a normal life.
Clifford’s new owner has adopted dogs in the past with seizure issues, as well as deaf cattle dogs.
