Interstate 17 closed at Cactus Road in Phoenix after body found

PHOEHIX – Northbound Interstate 17 was closed temporarily at Cactus Road on Friday morning after a body was found on the side of the roadway, authorities said.
The closure began just before 8 a.m., and traffic quickly started backing up.
The road reopened shortly before 9 a.m.
State troopers were investigating after a man’s body was discovered on the right shoulder near Thunderbird Road, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

Vehicles were able to reenter the freeway northbound at Thunderbird Road.
