PHOENIX — Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona has reopened four career centers and intends to open select retail stores over the course of the next three weeks, the organization announced in a press release on Friday.

Goodwill is considered an essential business under Gov. Doug Ducey’s Stay-At-Home order.

The four career centers’ hours of operation will be on various days from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Goodwill will be opening 21 of its retail stores on Monday, with hours of operation being reduced to 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in order to sanitize and clean the store.

The organization will continue to aid job seekers both via phone and online for those that don’t have access to the internet or a computer.

All retail store locations and career centers can also be found online.

“We are committed to helping the community during this uncertain time,” Goodwill vice president of marketing and communications Courtney Nelson said in the release.

“With unemployment skyrocketing, we know many Arizonans need help finding work. Our mission services team has been helping approximately 500 individuals a week by phone and online. In a recent week, we were able to connect 100 job seekers to new positions.”

In order to abide by CDC recommendations in regards to COVID-19, the career centers will have all desks and computers six feet apart, limit the number of job seekers inside and sanitize following each use.

At retail stores, plexiglass has been installed at all registers, as well as taped-off markers to keep customers six feet apart while in line.

Contactless payment options have also been implemented.

“The community needs us now, more than ever,” Nelson said.

“We have put procedures into place to keep our staff and job seekers safe. We will continue to monitor the situation and adhere to the CDC guidelines.”

We want to hear from you.
