Freeway restrictions scattered across the Valley this weekend

PHOENIX — Freeway restrictions will affect drivers throughout the Valley this weekend, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

In the East Valley, the westbound Loop 202 Santan Freeway will be closed between the Loop 101 Price Freeway and Interstate 10 from 4 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday for asphalt sealant application.

The Loop 202 eastbound in the same area will be narrowed to two lanes during that time.

Also, the eastbound Loop 202 will be narrowed to two lanes between I-10 and McClintock Drive from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday for pavement crack sealing.

The I-10 ramps to Loop 202 and eastbound Loop 202 ramps at Kyrene Road and off-ramp at McClintock Road will also be closed.

In the North Valley, northbound Interstate 17 will be closed at Happy Valley Road from 9 p.m. Saturday to 7 a.m. Saturday for bridge construction.

Southbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane and northbound I-17 will be narrowed to two lanes at Happy Valley Road from 9 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Friday for the same construction.

Also, westbound Loop 303 will be closed between Lake Pleasant and Happy Valley parkways from 10 p.m. Friday to noon Saturday and from I-17 to Lake Pleasant Parkway from 10 p.m. Saturday to noon Sunday for installation of message signs as part of a freeway technology project.

The eastbound Loop 303 on-ramp at Lake Pleasant Parkway will also be closed during that time.

In Scottsdale, the eastbound Loop 101 Pima Freeway will be narrowed to two lanes between 56th and 64th streets from 9 p.m. Friday and noon Saturday and between Hayden and Pima roads from 9 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday for a freeway widening project.

The westbound Loop 101 off-ramp at Cave Creek Road will also be closed from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for the project.

In the South Valley, the Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway will be narrowed to one or two lanes at times between 17th Avenue and Estrella Drive from 10 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Monday for paving.

The westbound South Mountain Freeway ramps at Vee Quiva Way will also be closed at times throughout the weekend.

Finally, eastbound I-10 will be narrowed to three lanes in the West Valley between 83rd and 67th avenues from 5 a.m. Saturday to 8 p.m. Sunday for lane striping.

The I-10 off ramps at 75th Avenue will also be closed during that time.
