PHOENIX — The same day Arizona reported its largest number of coronavirus cases in a single day, Luke Air Force Base announced that two individuals on base have tested positive for COVID-19.

The patients and their families have been in isolation in their homes since showing symptoms, according to the base’s 56th Fighter Wing Commander.

The military base has since upgraded its Health Protection Condition to BRAVO.

Luke Air Force Base’s announcement came the same day Coconino County Health and Human Services announced its first case of coronavirus.

The case, which has not been confirmed by state health officials, was the 28th in Arizona.

The presumptive case was an individual over the age of 60 from the greater Flagstaff area who is considered part of a vulnerable population, the county said in a press release.

Earlier in the day, Arizona announced six new cases of COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus.

While the national death toll continues to increase into the triple digits, Arizona has yet to report a death from the virus.

The AZDHS has been updating its coronavirus web page with the number of cases each morning.

We want to hear from you.
