PHOENIX — As nationwide travel decreases due to the outbreak of coronavirus, Phoenix Sky Harbor’s Transportation Security Administration operations will consolidate within Terminal 4.
Starting on Thursday, TSA passenger screening will take place exclusively within Terminal 4’s A and C checkpoints.
Travelers will be able to access any of Terminal 4’s gates from both checkpoints, while operations in Terminal 3 will proceed as normal.
Despite the decrease in nationwide travel, staffing levels at Phoenix Sky Harbor currently remain unchanged.
The news that TSA operations within Phoenix Sky Harbor will consolidate came the same day that Arizona’s total number of positive COVID-19 cases reached 20.
The changes within the airport also follow Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego and Tucson Mayor Regina Romero’s declarations of emergency for their cities in response to coronavirus.
