Metro Phoenix doused by rain again ahead of evening commute

PHOENIX — Metro Phoenix again got a heavy dose of rain ahead of Thursday’s evening commute.
Parts of north Phoenix received a half inch of rain in about 20 minutes, according to the National Weather Service.
The precipitation caused flooding and road closures in some areas.
Closures due to flooding include- Cotton Lane Both NB/SB between Peoria Ave & Waddell,
McDowell Both EB/WB between Jackrabbit Trail & Perryville Rd,
Citrus Both NB/SB between I-10 & McDowell,
Van Buren St & Citrus Rd,

It was the continuation of a wet week in the Valley.
Some areas received more than an inch of rain since Monday and a flash flood warning was expected to last into Friday.
Earlier in the day, hard rain overwhelmed parts of streets in metro Phoenix.
The four-day run of rain is unusual for the Valley this time of year, weather service forecaster Chris Breckenridge said Tuesday.
