Insurance company’s Chandler location adding 480 new jobs

PHOENIX — A car insurance company is looking to expand its workforce in Chandler.
Root Insurance’s decision to add 480 new jobs to its Chandler location over the next five years is in response to a growing customer base on the West Coast, according to a press release.
“We evaluated multiple markets on the West Coast before making the decision to meet our growing West Coast customer demand,” said Root Vice President of People Clara Kridler.
“The Phoenix Region, and Chandler in particular offers the high-quality talent pool and collaborative business environment we need to help our company thrive.”
The Columbus-based insurance company incorporates individual driving behavior into the rates offered to customers, which it calculates via mobile, smartphone technology.

“Arizona is the number one inbound state in the U.S., and it’s because of companies like Root Insurance choosing our state to expand their business,” said Gov. Doug Ducey.
The company has begun hiring positions for its claims and customer service departments in Chandler.
Root Insurance currently employs more than 850 employees throughout the U.S., more than 600 of whom work at the Columbus headquarters.
