Zac Brown Band postpones Phoenix show as coronavirus spreads

PHOENIX – Another major touring artist has postponed a Phoenix-area concert as the coronavirus outbreak spreads.
The Zac Brown Band announced it was putting off the spring leg of The Owl Tour, which was scheduled to stop at Ak-Chin Pavilion in Phoenix on March 28, citing “public health concerns.”

“This was an extremely difficult decision, but the well-being of our fans is always our top priority,” the band said Tuesday.
The Grammy Award-winning country act said it will soon reschedule all shows through an April 25 date in Nashville.
Fans were asked to hold onto their tickets, which will be honored at the new dates.

Earlier this week, rockers Pearl Jam postponed a tour leg that included an April 11 show at Gila River Arena in Glendale.
With new deaths reported and the number of confirmed U.S. cases exceeding 1,000, lawmakers and health officials across the country have set up containment zones and quarantine areas and sought to limit contact with those who might be infected.
No government-mandated restrictions have been issued in Arizona, where six cases of COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus, had been reported through Tuesday.
