Teen arrested in shooting death of 14-year-old boy in Phoenix

PHOENIX — A Phoenix teenager was fatally shot in a home where he and several other children were left unsupervised, police said Monday, and another teen was arrested.
Officers had responded to reports of a shooting at a house near 43rd Avenue and Baseline Road around 2:30 p.m., according to a statement from the department.
Police found six kids ranging in age from 5 to 16, inside. No adult was in the house.
The victim was a 14-year-old boy. He was taken in critical condition to a hospital, where he died.
Investigators developed cause to arrest a 16-year-old boy for alleged manslaughter and weapons violations Tuesday morning, police said.
The suspect allegedly brought the weapon into the home, police said.
Authorities didn’t know why the kids were alone, but child services was notified.
The investigation is ongoing.
