Busy, Smart and Strong: ‘Chicks and Their Nest Eggs’ offers a little wine, women and money

It was Halloween and Dianna Moses was only 3 years old, but she designed her very own costume that year.

She borrowed her grandpa’s hat, got the family copy of the Wall Street Journal and threw confetti up in the air over her head.

She went as a stockbroker.

She said she wanted to be one when she grew up. And while it may have been that she really loved the ticker tape/confetti idea, she never wavered, and at 19, found herself on the trading floor on Wall Street!

These days, Dianna is a wealth management advisor with AXA Advisors Southwest in Scottsdale for the likes of you and me. She believes in the power of women helping women — something we could use a little more of.

She said that when she first moved to the Desert Southwest, she didn’t know a soul and just ran around trying to meet people everywhere she went. Many women she met became clients, but more importantly, they became friends, and many owned small businesses.

So, now, Dianna is bringing all that together — women, money and business — for a new Girls’ Night Out event. You’ll have fun, and you’ll learn something, too — maybe even more than one thing!

The “Chicks and Their Nest Eggs” inaugural event is Wednesday night, June 25, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Uncorked Wine Bar, located at 16427 N. Scottsdale Road.

And the best part? It’s free!

If you’ve ever wanted to know if your finances are on the right track, ask a question, like what you should do with all the money you got when Aunt Agnes passed away; or ask if you should continue to rent or instead, maybe try to buy that house.

You’ll even learn about wine in the process! Dianna hopes “Chicks and Their Nest Eggs” will be so much fun, everyone will absolutely want to come the next time. She’s hoping for monthly or bi-monthly events — wine education this time, maybe self-defense the next time and car care the next…who knows?

Dianna says women are great planners, but when it comes to the actual numbers, many just shut down.

“We spend more time planning vacations than retirement,” she said. “Finances are kind of boring for some people, but not me!”

She said the whole point of “Chicks and Their Nest Eggs” is to help you focus on your hopes and desires and make sure you’re doing the right things to get there.

Oh, and to have a little wine with friends!

Uncorked Wine Bar is in the Promenade Shopping Center at the corner of Scottsdale Road and Frank Lloyd Wright Blvd.
